About Me
After graduating from Worcester University with a degree in both Fine Art and English Literature, I am now working as a freelance artist / illustrator. As a youngster I revelled in writing stories and bringing these to life through drawing and words. As I have grown this passion has not diminished and I continue to return to childhood fantasies through illustration and creative writing.
My "Wonky Droitwich" painting, a watercolour, ink and pen piece of Droitwich Spa's high street, has caused a stir! The full limited edition print run of 250 have now sold out! However, due to popular demand, I have created a new version "Wonky Droitwich 1938". Limited-edition prints of this vintage style painting are now available in sizes A3 and A2. See the painting on the Local Views page. I love producing Stylised Portraits which are paintings of people in a cartoony style, picking up on their hobbies and interests. There are endless possibilities and each painting is unique which is why I love to paint them so much. Seeing a customer's reaction when they see their commission for the first time is a lovely part of the job. I am also exhibiting in the Jinney Ring Craft Centre following my appearance on the BBC program 'Paul Martin's Handmade Revolution' and regularly exhibit in local cafes (See the Exhibitions and Events page for more details). I have been the Artist in Residence at St. Peter's Primary School in Droitwich Spa and a few years ago took part in their 'Arts Week', working with children from all year groups to create 'Superhero Olympic Athletes' in watercolour and pen. I also worked with the pupils to create a stain glass window for the entrance of the school based on Saint Peter and was commissioned to create a large mural to hang in their main hall, a photo of which can be found on my Exhibitions and Events page. I am delighted to have received the 'Wychavon Community Recognition Award' for the Arts in the local area and have recently realised by dream of illustrating the children's book 'AB Gets His Wings' in association with the Royal Air Force and Dove Service. I have also visited the children at Witton Middle School, Westlands First School, St. Clement's in Worcester and Sychtampton First School. I am an active member and secretary of the Droitwich Arts Network (DAN) and regularly take part in artistic events in the town, helping to engage the public through all forms of art. I even helped organise 'Droitwich ArtsFest', a 4 week long festival bringing all forms of art to the town. I am now selling personalised prints and original paintings for children's bedrooms. I feel my illustrative style is suitable for a variety of purposes from individual commissions to greetings cards, portraits and book publication.
