Salt King 200 was a great success! 

Attracting approximately 2000 guests, John Corbett's 200th birthday celebration picnic in the grounds of the Chateau Impney was certainly an event to behold. 

When the rain poured down at 11am that morning, many of us wondered what we had done. But the British spirit didn't fail us! The sun came out and hoards of people could be seen walking towards us laden with deckchairs, picnic hampers and outdoor games. The picnic was full of fun, laughter and a wonderful sense of community spirit. 

Community groups manned information stalls, put on activities and competitions and those such as Voices Unlimited and the Salvation Army band, added to the atmosphere with music.

The birthday boy himself welcomed guests and shared a scrumptious birthday cake, in the shape of a picnic basket, with us all.

History was repeated with the local town folk coming together, all ages, all backgrounds, enjoying the British summer in the name of someone who has done so much for Droitwich Spa.
